The Texas independent wrestling scene is scorching hot right now, and adding gasoline to that flame is River City Wrestling. The San Antonio-based promotion have announced their 4th show of 2022, “Bushwhacker,” and they’ve got some exciting matches/performers in store for us.
First, let me share all of the event information, as well as where to find and how to support River City Wrestling.
RCW: Bushwhacker (event was to be hosted by WWE Hall of Famer Bushwhacker Luke, who could not make the event due to illness, and RCW will continue on with his name as the event out of respect. They will look to bring in Luke on a later date)

And now, for what’s on tap at Bushwhacked. We have 30 performers set to grace us with their presence, and here is our confirmed card, which I will update as further matches are announced.

-Kaun vs Westin Blake
In a much-anticipated rematch from their 10 minute draw at “Mania,” Kaun and “The Rising Son” Westin Blake go toe to toe one more time. These two powerhouses did everything but destroy each other last time around, and they get a shot at proving their dominance in this thrilling second episode. Kaun is everything you want to see in a wrestler, giving vibes of a young Triple H. Westin is a well decorated veteran, who has wrestled on every stage in the business. Expect to be glued to your screen for every minute of this match.
Highlights from their 1st match can be seen below:

-Luis Ramirez vs Jess E. James
Coming off his loss to King Rob in a “Kiss My Foot Match,” Luis Ramirez is desperately wanting to get his hands around Rob’s neck. But first, he will need to go through the man that got him there in the first place, “The Professor” Jess E. James. The Jiu-Jitsu black belt had a hand in the Spartan’s embarrassing defeat at “Smoke Show” and there is aggression in the air. Spartan has made it clear he hates cheaters, and payback is tattooed on his mind for this clash.

-Katie Forbes vs Ki Vibez
Speaking of payback, that should be the title of this match. Katie came out at RCW: XX to announce that she would be having her husband, Rob Van Dam join her in an appearance at “Mania,” and was viciously attacked by a masked intruder. That deviant, was no other than Ki Vibez. Ki has made it clear that she isn’t done in her attempts at de-throning the Queen of Twerking, and has her eyes set on becoming the Queen of RCW.

-6 Man Tag Match: Pillars of Destiny (Paul Titan & Hunter Grey) & Christi Jaynes vs DFW Kartel (Angel Camacho & Lou Gotti) & Alejandra Lion w/Nastico
In a rematch from their clash at “Mania,” in which the RCW Tag Team Champions the DFW Kartel came out on top, this match is the war to settle the score. The 400 pound Angel Camacho absolutely annihilated the RCW Phoenix Champion Christi Jaynes in their last meeting with a Camacho Bomb to score the pinfall. The duos of DFW & the Pillars have quite the storied history here in RCW, with DFW Kartel defeating the Pillars at “Recharged” in June of 2021 to take over as the Tag Team Champs. While the tag team belts won’t be on the line, glory, respect, and redemption will.

-6 Man Tag Match: The Texas Treats (Don Juan & Chris Marval) & David Kidd vs Branden Vice, Casey Blackrose, and Adorable Anthony Andrews w/Logan Pettis
The last time we saw these men in battle was last month at “Mania,” in which The Texas Treats, David Kidd, and Katie Forbes were victorious over Anthony Andrews, Casey Blackrose, Jazzy Yang, & Rob Love in an 8-man Tag Match. The ring is a little larger in this 6-man exchange, and the heat couldn’t be any hotter. RCW International Champion David Kidd just relived Anthony Edwards of his duties as the holder of this belt at “Smoke Show” in March, and Branden Vice has already took to the mic and had some choice words for the 18-year veteran tag team and their “TIT” (Treat in Training” David Kidd. This match will have all the personality, swagger, and in-ring excecution you can ask for, so expect this one to set the venue on fire. The Sex Icon Branden Vice’s verbal lashing can be viewed below.

-Luigi Primo vs Drew Dredd
In another clash, where revenge and payback will be pumping through one another’s veins, 2 former friends and tag partners are set to settle a score, in Luigi Primo and Drew Dredd. After turning his back on Luigi at November’s RCW: “Breakthrough,” Drew, (known then as Drew Who) sent shockwaves across RCW, turning his back on Luigi, and adding embarrassment to the man who makes the best pizza in the world (self proclaimed.) Will these former friends squash this through a dose of one on one in the ring, or has this turned into a flat out rivalry?

-Tag Team Match: The Galvans vs JP Harlow & Vic Endurance w/Jeremiah
RCW Original, former RCW Champion, as well as RCW Tag Team Champion Ben Galvan brings his talents back to River City Wrestling, and this time is bringing his son Josh along as his tag partner. The Texas legend has 28 years in the game, and has assuredly passed down his knowledge and expertise to his son Josh, and this will be exciting to see this bloodline go to work together. Their foes are none other than the egotistical JP Harlow and Vic Endurance. Coming in with a less than stellar 0-2 record as a tag team in RCW, you would think JP & Vic would have their egos in check a bit, but not so much. After coming up short against The Pillars of Destiny at RCW:XX and the Texas Treats at “Smoke Show,” these two come in with their chins up to the moon, looking to do the unthinkable, and start a winning streak.

-RCW Women’s Championship Match: Madi Wrenkowski (C) vs Killa Kate
In her second defense of the RCW Women’s Belt, “Miss Reality” goes to war against the “Submission Savvy Strategist,” Killa Kate. Madi’s pedigree in RCW is no short of elite, as she defeated Kierra Hogan to win the belt at RCW:XX, and first defended her belt against Ki Vibez at “Mania” last month. Madi personifies next-level charisma & character, and will look to keep her star shining. Her opponent, Killa Kate, is not looking to make this debut a stepping stone, however. Kate has been in the ring with the likes of Abadon, Ashley D’Amboise, Masha Slamovich, Alejandra the Lion, and Viva Van, to name a few, and she will be on her game to make Madi’s belt, her reality.

-RCW Championship Match: Mysterious Q vs Rob Love
There couldn’t be 2 more enormous personalities, battling for all the gold at RCW: Bushwhacked. Enter, Rob Love who has deemed this a “King’s Rules Match” and has said that a Kendo Stick, brass knuckles, & chairs may be used, and even went as far as threatening to take of Q’s mask in his quest for the belt. Mysterious Q has a lot on his plate for his first defense since knocking off Gino Medina at “Mania,” but he’s more than built for this. Q stands in at a commanding 6’2″ 210 pounds, and is currently the RCW & ROW (Reality of Wrestling) Champion. For the brutality you can expect from Mysterious Q, view the highlights from the start of his championship reign below.

RCW’s next event is scheduled for Sunday, July 3rd, titled “Declaration of Champions,” and will be held at the same venue, The Grand Event Center.
