As always I commit to leave all bias at home, and work as if I don’t have a “favorite beer.” This is my no context Top 10 AB beers. The chart below grades each beer according to the Yancey Meter. Yancey Tomatoes.
Disclaimer: I am drawing on memory, as I am not drinking these currently, or recently. In fact, I am drinking zero alcohol these days, but thought it may be fun to give this a whirl. Please bust my head in the comments. I expect and welcome it.
The grading scale is defined below:
Aroma: The smell. This will of course differ greatly from hops, yeast, malt; and even from regular strength to light beers. Heavier beers generally carry a stronger impression. Breathing through nose, then with an open mouth and then mouth only is the “professional” way to review aroma.
Feel: Carbonation, added head (foam,) cream. This is the only portion that is texture based.
Flavor: The taste. Plain and simple. How does it taste?
Drinkability: How many can be consumed without feeling full. If you can flush it out quick and resume drinking the same day or next day without issue, it ranks higher on the drinkability scale. Look at it as bingable. That should help. You’re not frat-boying IPAs all weekend.
